TOP TRAVEL DESTINATIONS FOR 2018
Puerto Vallarta, Mexico
Mexico is well known for more than just it’s food and tequila! It is home to some glorious beaches and incredible culture. And that goes well beyond the popular Cancun for party goers!
Puerto Vallarta is another much loved Mexican gem with resorts, beaches and some impressive history too.
Puerto Vallarta is a resort town on Mexico’s pacific coast with a beautiful cobblestone town centre.
By day it is a charming promenade of colour and music and by night, the party vibe kicks in with nightclubs and bars.
It has a perfect mix of entertainment for family travellers, solo or friends and is located less than an hour from the incredible Hidden Beach, within Islas Marietas National Park. A must-see day trip, along way a day at Las Caletas!
With temperatures ranging from 24 – 30 degrees Celsius all year round, it’s a tropical destination with plenty to see and do, and of course, fantastic food to enjoy as well!
Mackay, Australia
With the tropical north Queensland being a popular holiday destination, Mackay often doesn’t get as much of a look in as it’s more famous northern neighbours of Cairns and Townsville.
However, Mackay has plenty of its own charm too and is well worth a visit. Especially since it is far less touristy as well!
Mackay is on Australia‘s east coast, in the state of Queensland and is off the coast of the world famous Great Barrier Reef. One of the most iconic parts of the town are the marina and Harbour Beach.
The Eungella National Park is home to plenty of rare and unique wildlife, and family travellers will love a visit to Bluewater Lagoon water park as well.
Mackay is also home to some incredible restaurants such as Burp.Eat.Drink for an urban dining experience. The owners happen to be family but it really is an incredible place to dine!
You could also venture a little further north to Airlie Beach to enjoy the beautiful Whitsundays, or down the coast to family-friendly Bundaberg.
Nashville, United States
The home of country music, boot-scootin’ and cowboy boots, and so much more!
Nashville is part of the USA state of Tennessee and home of the famous Grand Ole Opry House, Country Music Hall of Fame and numerous music venues, everyone usually looks at the Music Critics studio headphone guide to get the best headphones to listen to their music.
A slightly unexpected drawcard to Nashville is the lifesize replica of the Athens Pantheon. Sure to be a must-see, between enjoying the parks and walks throughout the city. Lots of opportunity for fresh air and open spaces to stretch legs and give the kids a free run.
I’m also looking forward to enjoying some of the local cuisine. I hear there’s plenty of pulled pork and smoky BBQ ribs and all those southern style favourites. Can’t wait!!
Hoi An, Vietnam
Vietnam is a country we adored and one we look forward to visiting again. From the chaos of HCMC to the calm, village vibe of Hoi An, there is something to love for every visitor.
Hoi An is the most incredible contrast between massive 7-star beach resorts to the traditional and lively fish and food market that is the hub of Hoi An.
If you’re looking for a budget friendly destination with beautiful traditional buildings, history and culture, Hoi An delivers. Enjoy a visit to the beach, followed by delicious Vietnamese food.
Admire the famous lanterns that cover every corner of the city and of course, get yourself a flash new outfit custom made to your measurements from one of Hoi An’s many tailors.
Plus you don’t have to take your life into your hands crossing the road in Hoi An… the traffic has nothing on the bustling big cities!
Gold Coast, Australia
While the Gold Coast is a destination we have visited more times than I could even dare count, it does still have its appeal. Sometimes when you visit somewhere so often, you forget exactly how much it does have on offer.
If you’re looking for family fun, the Gold Coast well and truly delivers! So many attractions and fun experiences to have.
Plus there’s the beaches of course and skip and jump away from the beautiful Gold Coast Hinterland with Springbrook, Mount Tamborine and so many other must-see scenic gems. The Gold Coast is the home of most of Australia’s theme parks and thrill attractions.
And of course, 2018 is the year Commonwealth Games comes to the Gold Coast. It’s going to be a very exciting time to visit with all the events and the vibe of having such an honour to be hosting the games.
