Seaworld Resort & Waterpark is one of the best family-friendly resorts on the Gold Coast, located right next door to Seaworld Gold Coast. There is so much on offer for families, making it one of our favourite resorts to stay!
Holidaying with the family is one of my favourite things in the world, but it was also one of our favourite things to do before kids too! In fact, our first stay at Seaworld Resort was back for Simon’s 30th birthday.
Our second stay was for our second babymoon, when we were 8 months into my pregnancy and looking for somewhere fun to delight our big kid. She was only 2 at the time and adored her first experience at Seaworld Resort.
SEAWORLD RESORT & WATERPARK
Since Seaworld Resort is one of our favourite family resorts on the Gold Coast, it was a perfect choice for staying with a toddler!
It has since had a major upgrade to the rooms and facilities. You can check out our most recent stay below:
Why Seaworld Resort Is Perfect For Families
But you know what could be the best part – the fact that Seaworld Resort is right next door to Seaworld Gold Coast theme park.
This brings some very cool extra perks, like morning meet and greets with the kids every morning in the foyer with Nickelodeon characters.
You don’t need a theme park stay package with your accommodation to enjoy this. The same goes for the exclusive dolphin show before the park opens.
Seaworld Resort is a fantastic resort for families, with its own water park in the pool area, plus seasonal entry to extra water slides.
The pool is heated to 23 degrees during the off-peak season, making it possible to swim even when it is a little cooler. This is a good thing since we always seem to get rain when we visit the Gold Coast.
There is a nightly musical light show by the pool at 8 PM each night that delights kids and they have kids club in case you need a break from your parental duties. The kids think this is a fantastic perk!
Seaworld Resort Rooms
The resort rooms are a comfortable size and even the cheaper room rate that we went with has 2 double beds.
The first time we went, we ended up having a double bed each… a bit of a fail for a ‘romantic weekend away’ but this time the two double beds were very useful for our co-sleeping toddler and a pregnant mamma that needs her space.
Resort Dining Options
There are several restaurants and casual dining options at the resort.
Actually… a crazy amount of them to suit all budgets, from the very fine dining of the seafood buffet and a Japanese teppanyaki restaurant to the poolside cafe. Our accommodation deal also included 25% off all resort dining.
We highly recommend the Teppanyaki restaurant!
Seaworld Gold Coast
For us, the theme park thing was a little pre-baby treat for our daughter before her sister arrives. So not the usual crazy ride filled day, with her being 2.5 and me being 37 weeks pregnant.
But Seaworld has so much to appeal, with lots of animals and shows to watch. This makes it a great theme park for a toddler.
Unfortunately, the young kid’s amusement section was shut for an upgrade on that visit, however, we’ve had fun trying all the newer rides several times since.
Movieworld was great fun for our little one too, with several rides suited to her age group and she actually really loved the Stunt Driver 2 car show.
Overall, we had a fabulous weekend of fun and family time for our combined babymoon and Mother’s Day weekend away.
Our little miss had a blast and was of course exhausted by the end of the weekend. She is a great little traveller though thankfully. We will certainly be heading back to Seaworld Resort & Water Park in future, as it will be a great place to stay every couple of years to treat the kids.
